Summer Skin Is a Full-Time Job Nobody Pays You For

You know what absolutely cracks me up about summer? My skin acting like it’s suddenly royalty the minute it gets hot out.

Winter? My skin’s low-key, barely needs me. But summer? Oh, I’m on duty - sunscreen patrol, aloe dispenser, and official ice-cube distributor for my own face.

Seriously, I swear I become my skin’s unpaid summer intern. Slathering on SPF every couple hours, rubbing in aloe like I’m prepping for a spa day, dabbing on powder so I don’t blind people with my shiny nose. The whole routine is wild.

And, oh man, the breakouts. One week I’m dewy and fresh, the next my forehead’s got more bumps than a gravel road. Thanks to sunscreen clogging up everything and humidity just… existing.

Let’s not forget about my “tan.” I don’t get that smooth, sun-kissed look. Nope. I get random patches - like I fell asleep under a tree and woke up with a map on my back.

Then, of course, the peeling kicks in. My shoulders shed so much, I practically leave a trail behind.

But hey, let’s be honest - summer skincare isn’t glamorous. I’m sticky, shiny, and sometimes smell like a coconut with regrets. So, after plenty of mistakes (and a couple sunburns I’d rather forget), here’s my friendly advice:

Wear the sunscreen. Seriously - get a new bottle, not that old relic from years ago. And actually reapply it!

Double cleanse at night, even if you’re about to pass out. Sweat, sunscreen, smog - just get it all off.

Drink water like you’re training for a hydration contest. Your skin will thank you, promise.

Don’t chase the “perfect” tan. Wrinkles and sun spots are not a vibe, trust me.

Aloe is pure magic - keep it in the fridge and slap it on whenever you need a little rescue.

Bottom line: sure, summer selfies are cute, but future you will be high-fiving present you for taking care of your skin. Sun-kissed looks adorable—sun-damaged, not so much. Stay glowy, not crispy!
